Your questions
What would you like to know?
It is natural to have questions about a project like this. Here are the answers we can give today. If something is missing, or you would like to talk through an idea, please get in touch.

The hall and its plans
Is the hall open yet?
Not yet. We are working on the design, preparation and fundraising needed to take the proposal forward. There is no confirmed opening date. We will share progress as each stage is completed.
Where would it be?
The proposed site is beside London Road and Bollin Grange in Lyme Green, on land being made available by Vistry Homes. Legal, technical and planning work is part of getting the project ready.
Why a new hall when there are other venues nearby?
Existing halls and community venues already do valuable work. We want to add useful space close to home and complement what is there. The business plan developed with Cheshire Connect takes that approach. If a different local venue is a better fit for a group, we would want to help them find it.
Will it be accessible?
Accessibility is part of the brief from the start. The early sketch includes accessible facilities, van parking and a Changing Places toilet. We still need to develop and test the details through consultation, technical design and funding.
If you have experience of what makes a venue easier—or harder—to use, we would really value hearing from you.
Activities and getting involved
What might happen at the hall?
Residents have suggested art, dance, toddler groups, exercise, wheelchair sports, training, advice sessions and much more. These ideas help us understand what the rooms need to do. The eventual programme will depend on demand, affordability and the people and organisations able to run activities.
Can I book a room or suggest a group?
Bookings are not open, but now is a good time to tell us what your group would need. Group size, preferred times, access requirements, equipment and storage are all useful details.
Can I help without giving money?
Absolutely. Practical and professional skills, fundraising ideas, introductions and conversations with neighbours all help. Let us know what interests you and the time you have available; we can discuss a useful next step together.
Funding and progress
What is fundraising paying for now?
The immediate focus is getting the project ready for planning: design work, surveys, legal preparation, consultation and the application itself. Funding construction is a later stage, once permissions, costs and the delivery plan are clearer.
What do the consultation figures mean?
The 2024 survey sent out 308 questionnaires and received 172 replies. Of those respondents, 88% said a community space was important and 83% said they would attend more locally.
The 322 responses mentioned in the August 2026 update relate to a later consultation. They are separate exercises, so we keep the figures separate too.
