Some details cannot be settled before design and planning. Where that is the case, we say so.
Where would the hall be?
On the plot beside London Road at the edge of the Bollin Grange development. See the location map. The detailed access arrangement will be determined through design, highways advice and planning.
Is the design final?
No. The artist’s impression and concept drawings are early material to support design and consultation. The appearance, layout and facilities can change before a planning application and through later technical development.
Would Bollin Grange residents pay a management fee?
The project material states that the charity, rather than estate residents through a management fee, would be responsible for the hall’s upkeep and maintenance.
How much parking would there be?
The proposal includes parking, including accessible provision. The exact number and arrangement are not yet fixed and will be considered through detailed design and planning.
What activities would take place?
Possibilities include community groups, classes, exercise, accessible sport, children’s activities, meetings, learning and local support. No final programme has been agreed. It will depend on demand, operating arrangements, affordability and the finished facility.
Would the hall host large late-night parties?
No. The published project material says eighteenth and twenty-first birthday parties and weddings are not the intended focus. Any future hire policy, permitted events and conditions would be set by the charity before opening.
What would the opening hours be?
They have not been fixed. The trustees and future operating team would set appropriate hours closer to opening, taking account of planning conditions, neighbours, bookings and sustainable operation.
Would the hall be licensed?
Any licences needed for appropriate activities would be considered nearer operation. A licence would not mean every type of event would be accepted.
Would it compete with nearby venues?
The stated intention is to complement other halls, remain focused on community activity and refer groups to another venue where it is more suitable or the Lyme Green hall cannot accommodate them.
When will it open?
There is no fixed opening date. Delivery depends on design, surveys, land arrangements, planning permission, capital fundraising and construction. Updates will be published as those dependencies become clearer.
